2017 Ukraine International: Nandagopal Grabs Twin Gold as Indians Win 2 Gold, 3 Silver

Nandagopal became 2nd Indian to win two titles in same tournament of 2017 while Rohan Kapoor won second consecutive title of September 2017 as Ukraine International saw two all-Indian finals and three events with Indians in final as Indians increased its title win to 26 in the 2017 year. While in Women’s Singles Sai Krishna Priya finished Runners up, K Nandagopal grabbed two Gold medals winning Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles winning against other Indian teams. While Men’s Singles saw unseeded Mithun Manjunath reached semifinals, the top seeds from India were knocked out in Women’s Doubles Quarterfinals. Mahima Aggarwal and Rohan Kapoor were the partners of Nandagopal as they shocked top seeds of both the events to win the Gold in all-Indian finals. 2017 saw third instance in Mixed Doubles and 1st instance of Men’s Doubles where both the finalists were from India.
