
India A Men’s team finished 4th losing the 3rd place match against New South Wales. Within 10 minutes, Indian team went up 2-0 with Simranjeet Singh scoring in third minute and and Affan Yousuf scoring in 9th minute. They were in sight for a better finish than the first Indian team that participated in Australian Hockey League 2016. NSW scored their first goal in 39th minute and Indians were ahead till 54th minute. Then, with two goals in two minutes NSW went on to seal third place finish in Australian Men’s Hockey League 2017. For the second consecutive year, Indian team finished 4th at AHL. Earlier Indian Women’s A Team finished 9th in their first AHL.
VIC Vikings won their 4th title and QLD Blades finished Runners up.
Indians played 7 matches, won 2, drew 4 and lost 4. They scored 11, conceded 15, 12 of which were conceded in the last three matches after pool stage.
Highest Goal Scorer: While Kieron Arthur and Chris Cieriello finished with 9 goals each, Affan Yousuf and Amit Rohidas were the highest goal scorer for India.
