Australian Hockey League: Indian Men and Women Lost 1st Match of Round 2

Playing the first match of the second round in Australian Hockey League 2017, today both Men and Women team lost. Playing for a place in final, India A Men’s sufferred a heavy loss. Playing for 5th-10th place finish India A Women’s team lost narrowly. To enter finals, tomorrow Men’s team need a big win in their last match of group, while Women’s placed 8th now will play their 2nd (of three matches).

Indian Men’s A team lost vs Victoria 2-5 in Round 2. Amit Rohidas scored both goals for Indians to reduce the margin to 2-3 in third quarter. But, after that Indians conceded two more goals.

Indian Women’s A team fought hard but lost by a goal 1-2. Western Australian team scored the first two goals. Preeti Dubey reduced the margin in the last quarter four minutes before the final whistle. With two goals, she is the leading scorer among Indians.

Amit Rohidas with 3 goals and Preeti Dubey with 2 goals are India’s top scorers in Men’s and Women’s Hockey league, respectively.
