Seema Tomar: Only Indian Woman to Win Shotgun Silver Medal at World Cup

Seema Tomar is part of the 28-member Indian Shooting Squad at Asian Games 2018. Born in Johri village of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh in a farmer’s family, which is known by her mother’s popular name of Revolver Dadi, she created history for India in 2010 World Cup. India has won 50 medals till 2014 Asia Cup. 5 Gold medals, 16 Silver medals and 29 Bronze medals make it India‚Äôs third best sports in terms of medals at Asian Games.

In 2010, Seema Tomar became the only Indian woman to win shotgun Silver Medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup. Family of Revolver Dadi – Prakash Tomar, who is the oldest Woman Shooter in the country, has made Tomar name synonymous to the World of Shooting. No wonder, her daughter Seema Tomar is creating waves in the shooting world from 2002 and part of current Indian Shooting Squad for Asian Games 2018.

After shifting from Rifle to Shotgun and winning Nationals in 2005, she has represented India in many World Cups, Asian Championships, Commonwealth Games winning multiple medals for country.

Major Achievements:

    2010: Silver Medal- ISSF World Cup held at England (Dorset) in Trap Event
    2014: Two Gold Medals at the Asian Shotgun Championships, United Arab Emirates
