BWF World Championships 2010: Top Seeds Indonesian Mixed Doubles Pair knocked out

Paris, France: After the big upset in Women’s Singles on Day 4, it was the turn of Mixed DOubles top seed on Day 5. The top seed Indonesian pair of Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir in straight sets in the Quarterfinal of the Yonex World championships 2010 in Paris.

Continuing their impeccable record agains the top seeds the 8th seed Chinese pair of Bo Zheng and Jin Ma emerged third time winner over the top seeds. They emerged winner in straight sets by 21-19 23-21

Head-to-Head
Before this 3rd meeting, the chinese pair has defeated the top seeds on 2 earlier occasions. The first time they won in March 2010 in the Wilson Swiss Super Series 2009 by 21-13, 21-12.

Then again in June 200n they won in Djarum Indonesia Super Series 200n by 21-17, 21-18.

Surprisingly the top seeds Indonesian pair of Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir are yet to win a set against the Chinese pair in their last 3 defeats.

In the Quarterfinal at Paris the Indonesian pair had 7 smash winner, compared to 6 smash winner by Chinese pair. In fact, Chinese pair could not get any Net winner, while top seeds got 8 of them. Yet in Clear Winner, Rallies and Games Points the Chinese pair gathered points.
