Canada played like minnows for most of the World Cup, yet in the last two games against New Zealand and Australia they showed the talent to appear as a World Class team in near future.

Baidwan, Hansra, Bagai and H Patel stand out as their best performers of the tournament. After 6 matches Baidwan had taken 13 wickets, becoming the second highest wicket-taker of the tournament after Shahid Afridi.
H Patel could play only last 2 matches. Devastating the Aussie pace battery of Tait, Brett Lee and Johnson scoring 54 runs would go in Canadian folklore. He scored 85 runs in last 2 matches. Canadians would be regretting not letting him play in other four matches.
Captain Bagai has earned respect for his skills behind the wicket. He gave exceptional performance behind the wicket with 8 catches in 6 innings. His agility behind the stumps reminded fans of the greatest wicketkeepers of the World Cricket. Even with bat, he appeared mainstay of middle order scoring 225 runs with 2 half-centuries.
Hansra was another exceptional performer. His 215 runs with 2 half-centuries resulted in decent middle order performance.
Now, only if Canada can stop relying on stars of the team and give equal chances to encourage others, probably they would be very close to being the Leading Associate Nation.
