Delhi Daredevils have been one of the topmost teams of last 3 IPL edition. Except 2010 edition, when they could not qualify for semifinal, they have been one of the top 2 teams of IPL in first two editions. But, the complete revamp has sent them at the bottom of points table. Can Anyone Help them suppress the devils and rise from the ashes!!
Delhi Daredevils have played two matches so far and lost both. Irony was the way they were humiliated in both the matches. Their batting is no more threatening. Even the bowlers are not working in tandem. The fielders can not hold or throw the ball properly as the fear of defeat is looming.
Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals have already crushed them. From the defeat there hass been only one positive. Venugopal Rao, who played earlier for Deccan Chargers, have showed the quality of a matchwinner batsman. He was their highest scorer in both the lost causes where Delhi batted first and the top order collapse like a heap of cards, and Venu was left to try for some respect.
Warner showed some sign of form in the second match, yet that is not the form of the confident self that Warner is famous for. Sehwag has also failed in both the matches. Bowlers have taken just 5 wickets. Mumbai defeated them by 8 wickets, while Rajasthan Royals defeated them by 6 wickets. Nobody, except Venu has tried to show some spine or form.
Who can save Delhi Daredevils now!!
DD is the only team to have not open its account after 2 matches. Account can be open, but if the lose their third match also, they can be easily counted as lame duck of IPL 4th edition. Is anyone in DD team ready to take the challenge and charge Delhi to victory!!
Sehwag
Captain Sehwag is appearing out of sorts in selecting the best playing XI. Even his bowlers have failed miserably, when the bowlers of opponents have succeeded. But, everyone in the Cricketing World knows that whether it is a test match, ODI or TWenty20 Sehwag alone handle all and take his team to victory. Nobody should expect Sehwag to win every match on his batting. But, since he is one of the most destructive batsman, he may decide to play a cautious-yet-aggressive role to lead from the front.
Most of the captains have gained form except DD captain Sehwag and Yuvraj, from Pune Warriors. If he gets going, not only can DD defeat any team in the world, but also gets other the confidence to perform beyond expectation.
Deccan Chargers have comeback from the road of elimination. Kings XI and Kochi Tuskers have suddenly started looking threatening, when after losses they were discarded as the weakest team. So why cannot Sehwag get V (Victory) for DD and set an inspiring example for all his teammates. He may find Sunday as a good day and start whacking IPL freshers Pune Warriors bowlers.
Venugupal Rao
He has already tried in first two matches. He must keep doing the good job so that his team has the best chances to gain respect first.
David Warner
He has the talent, but he appears nervous in this edition. His destructive form is missing. If he gets his form back, DD can soon become the powerhouse.
Bowlers
The most ingredient of success is bowlers. If DD bowlers led by Morne Morkel can find the momentum, they have a good bowling unit to utilize and make other succumb and Dill tock.
