2007
Placed with Zimbabwe and England at Group Stage, and with Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Group E of Super Eight.
They created a record of winning by maximum 10 wickets. Their openers and bowlers took them to semifinal.
Hayden with 265 runs was the most successful batsman, while Gilchrist (169) and Symonds (107) also crossed 100-run aggregate. With 4 half-centuries he was the only Aussie to cross 50-run mark in the tournament. Hayden also had maximum 10 sixes, followed by 7 from Gilchrist.
Stuart Clark with 12 wickets was their most successful bowler. Bracken and Johnson (8 wicket each) with Brett Lee (7 wicket) were also successful. Clark with 6.00 had the best economy rate also bowling 24 overs in 6 matches.
4/20 by Clark was best Australian performance. Bracken, Johnson and Brett Lee also grabbed 3 wickets in a match.

Placed with West Indies and Sri Lanka in Group C, and were knocked out at Group Stage.
Without their prolific opening pair of Hayden and Gilchrist they could not succeed. Opener David Warner was the only one to hit a half century. He scored maximum 63 runs in 2 matches, while David Hussey who hit 5 sixes reached 55 runs. Others failed miserably and could not prevent the knockout.
Even in bowling Brett Lee was the only bowler to reach 3 wickets. Absence of Stuart Clark affected the bowlers also, as Bracken, Johnson and Brett Lee could not produce the same impact as the bowlers did in 2007.

2010
The only match they lost in the tournament was the final against archrivals England. They topped Group A and Group E in Super Eight. The Australian assault was back in World Cricket. Only England could stop their march, and unfortunately for Aussies that was the final match.
5 of their batsmen aggregated 150 run or more. 3 of their bowlers grabbed wickets in double digits. They were unstoppable until they met the archrivals England in the final and lost their only match of the tournament.
Michael Hussey (188), Cameron White (180), David Hussey (179), Watson (163) and Warner (150) were the prominent scorers. Overall they scored 7 half-centuries. White hit maximum 12 sixes, while Aussies hit 57 sixes in the tournament.
Among bowlers Dirk Nannes with 14 wickets led the pace bowler battery. His 4/18 was their best performance. Spinner Steven Smith (11), Johnson (10), Tait (9), David Hussey (6) were other prominent bowlers. Tait, Johnson and Smith produced 3-wicket performances.
