
The first semifinal had very close matches, although Pune Pistons lost in three straight matches. The second semifinal between Awadhe Warriors and Mumbai Masters had easy wins in first three matches. 21-20 was the closest fight achieved in fourth match of the tie, still the end was on expected lines as Ivanov won. Despite Baun’s hamstring and despite Ivanov playing second consecutive match, Masters mixed doubles pair fought but the favorite Awadhe Warriors Indonesian mixed doubles pair took Warriors to Mumbai.

The team selection for Mumbai Masters was questionable. Ivanov could have played the first Singles match if he had to play the Mixed Doubles too. Tine Baun had to throw her Women’s Singles match due to hamstring as she needed to be better fit for Mixed Doubles. In the end as explained in the preview Awadhe Warriors earned the ticket to final.
