IPL 2014: At Halfway, Sunrisers Jump to 5th Position

UAE affected the Sunrisers, as their bowlers could not feel at home. As a result, finally they have found rhythem as unit in the 7th match, played at India, and the bowlers defended another low total. Addition of Warner and Finch has not changed their low scoring trend. Addition of B Kumar has certainly helped in being more confident in scoring low totals, as at halfway Sunrisers is at 5th in Points Tally, and B Kumar has the Purple Cap as well as he is the most economic bowler of the tournament after 30th match of IPL 2014.

1st Match: First match saw Rahane’s knock losing them to RR.
2nd Match: They also became another team to be swallowed by Maxwell Tsunami. B KUmar had 3/19 amidst the ruins.
3rd Match: Finally, the top three of Dhawan (33), Finch (88*) and Warner (58*) took them to 184/1. DD gave a scare but they won by 4 runs.
4th Match: They failed to win against CSK, again as CSK chased their total of 145 easily. B Kumar (2/23) and Steyn (0/20) were impressive in the lost cause.
5th Match: Warner’s half-century (65 runs) and then bowling trio of Steyn (2/29), B Kumar (2/17 and Irfan (2/10) took them to easy win.

7th Match: In a low scoring thriller Sunrisers defended a low score to avenge loss against RR with 4/14 by B Kumar, 0/13 by Mishra, and 1/20 by Karn Sharma.
