Netherlands made debut in 1934 World Cup and after making an appearance in 1938 World Cup, it went off the World Cup list. Both the editions saw them losing in the first round. They again made a double appearance in 1974 and 1978 World Cup and then failed to appear for next two editions. From 1990 World Cup they played 3 editions and after failing to qualify for 2002 World Cup, it is again their third consecutive World Cup, at Brazil 2014 World Cup.
