
2nd seed Saina Nehwal and 8th seed PV Sindhu won their respective third round matches to enter the quarterfinals of the Badminton Asia Championships 2015. But, Parupalli Kashyap was knocked out. Even the Mixed Doubles and Men’s Doubles team lost their matches. Sindhu and Saina have a very tough Quarterfinal matches to play. After 2nd round yesterday, 5 events featured Indians in third round today.
PV Sindhu Prevails Over Teng from Macau
PV Sindhu did not face any challenge in overcoming Teng lok U of Macau as she needed only 21 minutes to win.
Sindhu def Teng lok U 21-8, 21-9.
In quarterfinal top seeds Li Xuerui awaits her. Both have won a match against each other. She has defeated the chinese in the China Masters Super Series 2012 beating her 21-19, 9-21, 21-16.
Li Xuerui had won in Thomas & Uber Cup Preliminaries 2012 21-16, 21-13.
Saina Nehwal Survives Scare from Nozomi Okuhara
Playing her first match of the tournament after receiving Bye and Walkover in the first two rounds, Sasina Nehwal had to sweat it out for for 1 hour 7 minutes as she registered her third straight career win over the Japanese. Saina has remained undefeated against Okuhara so far. She first won in Malaysia Open 2013 and then in China Open 2013.
In the Quarterfinal Saina meets 5th seed 5th seed Tzu Ying Tai from Chinese Taipei. Saina has a very competitive record against Ying. She has won 5 and lost 4 against her. Saina won the first four matches between them. In the last five matches Tai Tzu Ying has won 4, including the last two meetings in 2014.

Kashyap and Doubles Teams Knocked Out
Parupalli Kashyap played 7th seed Chinese Zhengming Wang for the 5th time. He has won against him at India Open 2014 21-12 17-21 21-12, but has lost thrice before. Today again he fought hard but failed to overcome.
- Kashyap lost 21-23 21-17 21-8 in 1 hour 8 minutes.
Mixed Doubles Team: Arun Visnu/Aparna Balan lost to Chinese Pair 13-21, 5-21.
Men’s Doubles Team: Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy lost to 3rd seed Chinese pair 10-21 13-21 in 34 minutes.
