Russian Open 2016: Indians Win two Title, Unseeded Siril Runners up After Tough Fight against Top seed

While Indians in finals of three events created a rare sight for Indian Badminton, two of them won the title matching India’s best performance ever in One event, while unseeded Siril Verma had to settle for Runners up in Men’s Singles after a tough fight of more than an hour. Shivani won Women’s Singles title. Brazil Open 2016 champions Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy added another Mixed Doubles title against their name. Top seed Russians won all-Russian Women and Men’s Doubles title.

    Women’s Singles Title: 4th seed Ruthvika Shivani Gadde def Evgeniya Kosetskaya (Russia) 21-10 21-13 in 26 minutes
    Mixed Doubles Title: 2nd seed Pranaav Jerry Chopra / Sikki Reddy def Ivanov/Sorokina (Russia) 21-17 21-19 in 32 minutes
    Men’s Singles: Unseeded Siril Verma lost to top seed Zulfadli Zulkiffli (Malaysia) 21-16 19-21 10-21 in 1 hour 3 minutes
