Bitburger Open 2016: Sourabh Varma enters Final, Sameer Verma Loses Semis

Unseeded Sourabh Varma’s fairtytale performance continued as he knocked another seeded player to enter the finals of Bitburger Badminton Open 2016 at Saarbrucken, Germany. India’s historic rare feat of two Indians in the finals of one event failed to happen as 12th seed Sameer Verma’s defiance finally ended in the semifinal as he lost to 4th seed Yuqi Shi after a tough fight. Can The Taipei Masters Champion become the 4th Indian to win Bitburger Open title, second after Chetan Anand in Men’s Singles?

    Chetan Anand won Men’s Singles Title in 2008.
    Jwala Gutta and Diji Valiyaveetil won Mixed Doubles title in 2008.

In the Men’s Singles final on Sunday, Sourabh Varma is scheduled to play at 8 p.m. IST. They have met once before in Syed Modi International Badminton Championships 2016 January where Sourabh lost 12-21 23-21 12-21
