
Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj and Manoj Sarkar won the Asian Para-Badminton Championships 2016 on Sunday, November 27, held at Beijing, China. From the 15 events, Indians participated in 8 events. Manasi Joshi was the only women player from India, as 3 other teams reached the semifinals, including the two semifinalists in Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4. Indians had something to cheer on the Super Sunday where for the first time Indians were vying for 5 titles in different tournaments on the same day in the history of Indian Badminton. Unfortunately, Sindhu and Sameer had to settle for Runners up at Hong Kong Open 2016.
Top seed Manoj Sarkar def Xiaoyu Chen (China) 21-17 21-14 in the finals to win Men’s Singles SL 3.
Manoj Sarkar def another Indian Pramod Bhagat in the semifinals and Nitesh Kumar in the Quarterfinals.

Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj won Men’s Singles SL 4 by defeating Hary Susanto (Indonesia) 21-421-11.
He defeated Kyung Hwan Shin (Korea) 21-821-16 in the semifinals and another Indian Anand Kumar Boregowda in the Quarterfinals.
