Macau Open 2016: Another 3-setter, another QF for Saina, Praneeth joins

The desperation to win more against her injury than opponents is evident in every match Saina has played in the last three tournaments she has played since her return. Her Round 2 match at Macau Open 2016 was no exception where she had to spend more than an hour on court to win the three-set match. Much to the joy of her fans, she reached her second consecutive quarterfinals after China Open. Sai Praneeth shocked the 5th seed to join Saina in Quarters. But for Parupalli Kashyap any major success has to wait since his return to injury. He joined Sameer Verma in being knocked out early, failing to reach quarterfinals, he bowed out with Men’s Doubles team of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy, who were seeded 3rd.

    Sai Praneeth B def Wing Ki Vincent (Hong Kong) 21-15 21-17 in 43 minutes.
    3rd seed Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy lost to Danny/Hendra (Indonesia) 22-20 21-19 in 40 minutes
    Kashyap lost to Lin (Taipei) 21-13 22-20 in 45 minutes

Sai Praneeth shocked 5th seed to enter Quarterfinals where the 37th seed Indian will meet 125th seed Jun Peng from China.
Saina will play Quarterfinals tomorrow against Yiman Zhang of China against whom she has never played before.
