Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2017: A Rare Hattrick of Title Awaits India

After winning two consecutive Men’s Singles title at Swiss Open, could India get a rare hattrick of titles at an International event? HS Prannoy, ranked 5th at current event, is the defending champion, while Srikanth Kidambi had won in 2015 Swiss Open.
As HS Prannoy has lost his baggage and entered without necessary accessories, Indians have hopes from their top most seed Ajay Jayaram and the only Indian to have already won two out of 7 titles won by India in 2017, Subhankar Dey. Check the complete schedule for India for Swiss Open 2017 starting from March 14.

HS Prannoy reached the quarterfinals but lost to World No. 2. 4th seeds Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy also reached the QF of Mixed Doubles. No other Indian team reached beyond at Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2017.

Ranked 20th in BWF overall ranking, Christie has won both the matches against Subhankar before. He won last in Bitburger Badminton Open 2016 and before that in 2014.
