India Open 2017: Top 4 seeds in Mixed Doubles & Women’s Singles Semis, Sindhu Keeps Indian Hopeful

As two time Women Singles winners, Saina Nehwal and Intanon (defending champion and 2013) lost today in quarterfinal, continuing her rise to the top, Sindhu won the battle of Indian titans reaching her second semifinal (after 2013 India Open) at India Open. Sameer Verma fought hard but failed to reach semifinal to emulate Kashyap (2012), Gurusaidutt (2010 Runners up), Srikanth (2015 winner) and Anand Pawar (2013). Viktor Axelsen reached his third consecutive semifinal and with Antonsen will make another effort to win first Men’s Singles title for Denmark at India Open. India Open 2017 saw a rare semifinal line up as all top four seeds in Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles reached the semifinals.
