Bulgarian Open 2017 had very few Indian participants. Unseeded Lakshya Sen, Kiran George and Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka celebrated Indian 70th Independence Day at Sofia playing the tournament. While in Women’s Singles Vaishnavi knocked out 2nd seed in 1st round to reach Quarterfinals, in Men’s Singles Lakshya Sen knocked out the top seed in 1st round and the 2nd seed in Final to lift Bulgaria Open 2017. This is the 23rd International title for Indians in 2017.
