
As Seniors completed their first experience of matches against the Men’s team, now Indian Women’s A team will be participating for the first time in Australian Women’s Hockey League following the footsteps of Men’s A team that will participate for second consecutive edition of AHL at the same time. Hockey India has announced the 18-member team that will participate as one team of the league tournament where two groups will have 5 teams each. 8 teams are from different parts of Australia and one team is from New Zealand. Preeti Dubey will lead the team under her deputy Udita. The tournament starts from 28 September. They finished 4th in the group of five teams and will play 5th-8th place qualification matches. India A Women finished AHL 2017 campaign overall 9th among 10 teams with 2 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses. They scored 7 goals and conceded 21 goals.
