Japan Open Super Series 2017: Pranaav Jerry Chopra / Sikki Reddy Are Only 2nd from India in Semis

Pranaav / Sikki lost the semifinal in three sets after a tough fight of 1 hour against 147th seeds. Earlier, from the 16-member contingent, India’s best mixed doubles pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy became only the second Indians after Saina Nehwal (2011) to reach the semifinals of Japan Open Super series that is yet to be won by any Indian. 3rd time Quarterfinalist Srikanth and 2nd time quarterfinalist HS Prannoy failed again to reach the semifinals of Japan Open. 19th seed Pranaav and Sikki now face 146 seeds Japanese pair in the semifinals for a historic shot at being the first from India to reach Japan Open Super Series finals.

In 2017, Pranaav and Sikki have won Syed Modi International Challenge and were the quarterfinalists at Swiss Open.
