
5th seed PV Sindhu, the leader of Indian contingent, reached the finals of Korean Open 2017 Super Series. The Super series where India’s best has been a Final by Ajay Jayaram in 2015, Sindhu has not only the chance to win another Super Series after India Open Super Series this year, but also take the revenge of World Super Series where after the second longest match in Badminton History she finished Runners up to Nozomi, whom she will face again in the final. Among other Indians, Sameer Verma knocked out two big players but lost to top seeds, while except Men’s Doubles team others failed to cross Round 2.
Sindhu has defeated Minatsu Mitano, who knocked out top seed Tai Tzu Ying, and Bingjiao who knocked out 3rd seed Korean Sung Ji Hyun. She will face World Super Series Champion 8th seed Nozomi Okuhara (Japan) who has knocked out her native team member and 2nd seed Akane Yamaguchi in semifinals. After the win in World Championships Nozomi leads 4-3 against Sindhu in career meet. This is their third meetings in 2017 and both have won one match each.
