Asia Cup 2017 Day 2: Goal Feast saw 17 goals as Malaysia and Korea win

While Day 1 saw 13 goals, Day 2 improved with 17 goals in just two matches as the most successful team and two-time defending champion South Korea and 4th best team of Asia Cup, Malaysia trounced Oman and China, respectively in the Men’s Asia Cup Hockey 2017 at Dhaka. For the 2nd consecutive day, Asia Cup saw a hattrick.

Malaysia Routs China 7-1
China and Malaysia are the only teams beside Japan to reach Asia Cup semifinals behind India, Pakistan and South Korea who are the only three teams to have reached the finals of Asia Cup.
But, the first match of pool stage showed the gulf as Malaysian hit goal 7 times against the hapless Chinese who could just manage one goal for consolation. Faizal Saari scored a hattrick during the rampage.

South Korea Sinks Oman 7-2
With sigh on hattrick of titles, South Korea started their campaign in the most convincing way with a massive win against Oman. 6 of their players scored 7 goals, while two from Oman scored a goal each.

In Group B, China will play Oman while the winners of today will face each other in 2nd match of October 14.

Tomorrow in Group A matches, Pakistan will play Japan while India will play the hosts, Bangladesh in their 7th meeting at Asia Cup.
