Denmark Open Super Series 2017: Srikanth Kidambi Wins India’s 3rd title

Srikanth Kidambi, the most successful Indian Badminton player in 2017, won the third title for India at Denmark Open Super Series. Before him Saina Nehwal (2012) and Prakash Padukone (1979) had won the tournament. In one of the rare one-sided Super Series finals, he took just 25 minutes to join Saina Nehwal in winning three Super Series titles in a year. He has overall 6 Super Series titles. During his world record matching three Super Series finals before, he has won two and lost one to Sai Praneeth. In other finals, Intanon from Thailand won Women’s Singles, while Korea, Hong Kong and China won one event each of Doubles.

Srikanth has reached his 4th Super Series finals of 2017 after knocking 2nd seed Viktor, the local boy, on his way in a tough fight. Lee Hyun II has knocked out his countrymate, the top seed Son Wan Ho to enter final.
But, the final was all about Srikanth who took only 25 minutes to win in straight sets.
