800m event has one of the most successful records for Indians at Asian Games where Men and Women have won 21 medals till 2018 Asian Games. While three medals in 1994 is the highest in one edition, during 4 editions Indians have won twin medals in the event. While 2018 saw no participation from Women’s despite winning medals in last two events, Gold and Silver won respectively by Manjit Singh and Jinson Johnson was only the second time after 1951 Asian Games when Indian Men achieved the feat which women has achieved twice before.
