Women’s Hockey World Cup 2018: Indians Reach Third Quarterfinals in 7th Attempt

Indian Women’s Hockey Team reached 3rd Quarterfinals at World Cup after a gap of 40 years! They finished 4th in 1974, did not participate in 1976, and again reached quarterfinal in 1978. Again in 1981, they did not participate and in 5th World Cup, 1981 finished 11th. After that it was a long cooling period of three World Cups. With the goals from Lalremsiami, Vandana Katariya and Neha Goyal, team led by Rani Rampal continued the legacy set by Ritu Rani and knocked out Italy 3-0 to set up another clash to seek first win against Ireland.
