The Highest-ever 4th Wicket Partnership for New Zealand

Dambulla, Sri Lanka: Skipper Ross Taylor and Scott Styris rewrote the New Zealand record books by scoring the highest-ever partnership for the 4th wicket. Their partnership against India in the Sri Lanka triangular series at Dambulla led to their team’s emphatic victory by 200 runs. Unfortunately none of them could score a century.

190 is the highest 4th Wicket Partnerships for New Zealand. Ross Taylor and Scott Styris broke their earlier record of 168 runs partnership for 4th wicket between Germon and Chris Harris of 1996 World Cup match in Chennai against Australia.

190 is the 3rd Highest partnership for 4th wicket against India. 206 runs between Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan in Centurion, 2009 is the highest against India, while 202 runs between Carlisle and Ervine of Zimbabwe in Adelaide, 2004 is the 2nd highest.

India holds the record for the highest-ever 4th wicket partnership. Azharruddin and Ajay Jadeja added 275* against Zumbabwe in Cuttack, 1998.

For Sri Lanka, the highest partnership of 171* runs for 4th wicket was scored by Mahanama and Arjuna Ranatunga in Lahore, 1997 against West Indies.

Against Sri Lanka, the highest 4th wicket partnership of 237 runs is credited to the Australian pair of Ponting and Symonds scored in Sydney 2006.

Against New Zealand, Pakistan scored the highest 4th wicket partnership when Yousuf Youhana and Younis Khand added 161 runs at Karachi, 2002.
