Malinga starts, Tendulkar Ends – Another Emphatic win for MI

Mumbai Indians continued their emphatic run and defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at home. The win was similar to their first win against Delhi Daredevils. Malinga started opponents collapse, Sachin chased the target, and other MI players contributed their bit.

RCB decision to bat backfires
RCB won the toss and elected to bat in an effort to make their head-to-head record against Mumbai 4-4. Malinga was not satisfied after completing 5-wkt haul in first match. On the first ball, Mumbai opener was clean bowled while defending the ball. What followed was another collapse. Dilshan and AB de Villiers joined hands and scored 91 runs for 3rd wicket, yet the tight bowling did not let them run free. In the end they could score only 140 runs losing 4 wickets.

Another Easy Chase for MI
Davy Jacobs gave a flying start to Mumbai Innings, targetting Zaheer Khan. Nannes bowled him, but that added more trouble for RCB. Rayudu came and started hitting from the first ball. Seeing Rayudu in good nick, Tendulkar decided to play anchor role. Their unbeaten stand of 110 runs saw MI emerge winner by 9 wickets.

Sachin – Player of the Match
Sachin played another composed yet attacking inning and remained unbeaten in the chase to victory. Besides his 55 runs, his captaincy was at his best. While batting, playing anchor to Rayudu was the masterstroke, despite knowing that he could have done the same. This effort will take his teammate Rayudu’s confidence to another level, and help MI in remaining matches.

Difference between Zaheer and Malinga
MI’s decision to retain Malinga but let Zaheer go turned into a master stroke. Today playing against their old team Zaheer gave away 36 runs in 4 overs. Davy Jacobs was specially came hard against him hitting him for boundaries at will. On the other hand Malinga took first ball wicket and overall gave finished with a figure of 32/2 in 4 overs.
