3 Korean teams have reached the finals with Women’s doubles set to go to Korea. Thai Intanon has made her 2nd consecutive entry to final after England Open. Two Chinese teams and Men’s Singles top seed represent China in teh finals. Denmark finds representation in Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. Indonesia and Malaysian players fail to reach any of the finals.

After England Open, it was another semifinal exit for Saina who failed to defend her Swiss Open title. The top seed of the tournament and ranked recently 2 in the world had no answers to Wang Shixian, who defeated her only 2nd time after losing for four consecutive matches against Saina.
In the first set Wang took 8-0 lead and from there on Saina could never recover and lost 21-11. Even in the second set Wang started with a lead but Saina could finally catch her at 6-6. But failed to take lead. Much awaited lead came at 8-7 for the first time in the match. From there on Saina was in her element and Wang was forced to commit errors. Saina won second set 21-10.
The decider set again saw Wang running away with the lead moving ahead quickly. One of her shots hit Saina on the head and that showed how beautifully Wang was able to deceive Saina with her shots. Saina could earn first point to make it 1-5. But that did not help much as Wang continued to march with clean drop shots at the net moving to 9-3 in a quick time. She led 11-4 half-way.
The writing was clear on the wall. Coach Gopichand shared his views with her during the side-change break. With the side change the first point went to Saina and the score read 5-11. With a power hit Wang made snatched the service at 12-6. Wang forced Saina to misjudge many line shots hitting high. She did not give much chance to Saina and 17-6 in favour of Wang showed the huge gap the game had between the two players. After that it did not take long for Wang to write the obituary of the top seeds Saina Nehal. She won the third set 21-9, and with that booked her final date with the Thai.
