Jayanta Talukdar is the first Indian archer to win a gold medal at Achery World Cup, when he won the Recurve Individual Gold medal at the FITA Meteksan Archery World Cup in 2006, at Stage 1 in Porec.

Born: 2 March, 1986
Jayanta Talukdar has the distinction of winning the first-ever Gold by an Indian in the World Cup. Spotted in 2000 at the age of 14 years in a talent hunt by Tata Archery Academy coaches at Jamshedpur, he is one of the pioneers on whose shoulders Indian Archery has now risen as one of the best Archery Nation.
In 2004 Junior World Championships, he was part of the Silver medal winning Indian team. He was also seeded number 1 for the 2009 World Cup in Copenhagen.
Awards: Born in Guwahati, Jayanta was conferred Arjuna Award in 2007.
Associations: Alongwith Deepika Kumari, Jayanta has signed up to facilitate training support with Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) for 2016 Olympics.
