On a day when Australia and Bangladesh had to settle with a point each as the match was abandoned due to rain, West Indies trounced Pakistan by 150 runs in 2015 World Cup Match 10, which was the second game of tournament for both. The win takes West Indies to the second position in Pool B. Pakistan has started the tournament in the same way as they did in 1992, but everyone is wondering if they can actually even reach the next round now, forget about the repeat of 1992 World Cup when they won. West Indies on the other hand keeps its hopes alive with this win.

West Indies Cross 300 Again
West Indies scored 300 in their first match but failed to defend. This time they added few more runs and scored 310/6 after being sent to bat. Gayle (4) failed again, even Smith (23) could last only till 8th over. From there West Indies created an own record as all the batsmen till No. 8 scored 30 or more runs.
Interestingly, in the huge score their highest individual score was 51 by Ramdin and 50 by first match centurion Simmons. Darren Bravo (49) retired hurt. But Samuels (38), Darren Sammy (30) went out before making the innings steady. Russel’s unbeaten 42 runs in 13 balls had to end as the quota of 50 overs finished. He had hit 4 6s and 3 4s and needed just 2 more balls to break fastest 50 score set by Brendum McCullum yesterday.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Irfan (1/44) and Afridi (0/48) were the best. Last match hero Sohail Khan bowled a maiden but had 1/73 in 10 overs, Wahab Riaz (1/67), Haris Sohail (2/62 in 9 overs) failed to control the rampage. The only over by Maqsood also resulted in 8 overs.
Taylor-Forced Pakistan to Succumb
West Indies failed to save 300+ score vs Ireland. But Pakistani hope of a successful chase vanished in in just 3.1 overs. They could score only 1 run but lost 4 wickets, a world record. Taylor grabbed Jamshed, Younis and Haris Sohail on duck, while Holder sent Shehzad on 1. Misbah (7) could stay only till 10.3 overs as score reached 25/5.
Maqsood (50) and wicketkeeper Umar Akhmal (59) added 80 runs for 6th wicket. Afridi (26-ball 28) was the last hope but tail could not provide him support as Wahab Riaz (3), Sohail Khan (1) departed. Mohammad Irfan (2) again remained unbeaten.
For West Indies, Sammy was the most expensive with 1/47 in 8 overs and Benn (2/39 in 9 overs) also faced some attack. But Russell (3/33 in 8 overs), Holder (1/23 in 7) and Taylor (3/15 in 7) ensured Pakistan folded in 39 overs scoring 160 runs only.
