Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore was anything but compeition specially at the home Ahmedabad of RR and poor performances of RCB in last 4 matches. But, first the return of World Cup 2015 start Starc and then the return of most flashy trio of IPL provided just one known result, the trouncing of opposition. This time it was Group Topper Rajasthan Royals who suffered. On a day where 10 wickets fell, RCB thumped RR by 9 wickets after Starc and Co produced of the lowest total of IPL 2015.

Being sent to bat first, Royals had a good start as Orange Cap holder and the only batsman to cross 300 runs in IPL 8th edition, Ajinkya Rahane (12-ball 18) added 36 runs in the company of captain Shane Watson (22-ball 26). But both departed within 5 balls. Smith (28-ball 31) and Karuna Nair (13-ball 16) still made them look good making them reach 72 in 10th over. But With fall of Karuna Nair, followed the quick wickets of Deepak Hooda (1), Samson (4) and then Smith on the first ball of 18th over. Binny (20 runs on 20 balls) was the only one to stay. Faulkner (4), Kulkarni (3) could not score much. In the last 10.1 overs they could score only 58 runs losing 7 wickets.
For RCB, Starc, the Player of the Match had 3/22 grabbing Smith, Binny and Kulkarni. Abdulla had 1/28 with the wicket of Hooda. Harsha Patel had the magical wickets of Rahane and Faulkner finishing with 2/23. Chahal who has to retire after bowling 3.1 overs grabbed 2/25 taking wickets of Watson and Samson and has now reached 2nd position in Purple cap race. David Wiese (0/27) and Kohli who bowled 5 balls to complete Chahal’s over, could not take wickets.
RCB Wins in Style by 9 Wickets
Royal Challengers meant business considering they knew besides winning they need to work on Net Run Rate too. Gayle (17-ball 20 runs with a six and 3 4s) fell to Watson as RCB reached 36 in 4.3 overs. After that they went to their old successful batting order as AB de Villiers came at third position. Captain Kohli (46-ball 62 with 3 6s and a four) and AB de Villiers (34-ball 47 runs with 6 4s) added 98 runs for 2nd wicket taking Royal Challengers home by 9 wickets.
For RR Watson (1/23 in 3) was the only successful bowler. Kulkarni (0/26) and Tambe (0/36) completed their spell. Morris (0/23 in 3), Faulkner (0/17 in 2) failed to break the partnership.
With RCB jumping ahead of Kings XI Punjab to 5th position, IPL has come alive again for them, while Rajasthan Royals became the first team to complete half-way mark of 7 matches.
