Vietnam International: India Still Awaits a Finalist at Hanoi

A team of 12 Indians are participating at Vietnam International 2017 in an effort to improve the record of only 3 semifinals for Indians in the event that started in 2000. Three semifinals are the best performances for Indians. Two in Men’s Singles – one each by Sai Praneeth (2012) and Chetan Anand (2008), and one by Men’s Doubles team of Tarun Kona / Arun Vishnu (2012). In 2017 Hanoie – Vietnam International, India has two seeds in Men’s singles and 3 seeds in Men’s and Mixed Doubles. On Day 1, three Indians lost while three joined Rasika Raje and 3 doubles team on Day 2.

    Chirag Sen lost to Mahbub (Indonesia) 21-19 15-21 21-14 in 50 minutes
