Indian performance was dominated by Women as Men’s squad could just win 2 Bronze medals as Indians finished 4th with 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. PT Usha with 4 Gold medals and 1 Silver emerged as the Sprint Queen of India.

12-member Indian squad won a Bronze medal.
Boxing
12-member Indian squad finished second with 4 Silver and 9 Bronze medals as South Korea made a clean sweep winning all 12 events.
Equestrian
Indians win 2 Bronze medals to finish 4th.
Hockey
Indian Men’s team could not enter final and had to settle for two Bronze medals as South Korea emerged as the new Asian power in both events.
Men’s Hockey
Indians finished as Group A topper drawing with South Korea 1-1 and winning against Japan (3-1), Thailand (11-0) and Hong Kong (10-0). But, lost semifinal 3-1 against Pakistan, who lost group match to Malaysia. Indians defeated Malaysia 4-1 to win Bronze.
Women’s Hockey
In the Round Robin, Indian eves won 3, lost to South Korea (3-0), drew with Silver medal winner Japan (1-1). They won against Malaysia (2-1), Thailand (7-0) and Hong Kong (7-0) to grab Bronze.
Football
Indian Men’s team lost all three group matches at Group B. They lost against South Korea (0-3), China (1-2) and Bahrain (0-3). Indians finished 16th out of 18 teams.
Judo
Indians won 4 Bronze medals to finish 4th.
Sailing
Indians won a Silver in 470 event.
Shooting
Indians finished 5th with twin medals from Soma Dutta and a team Bronze.
Swimming
Khajan Singh won a Silver as Indians finished 5th.
Volleyball
Indian Men’s team won a Bronze.
In Pool A, they won 4 and lost 1 to finish second. They defeated Hong Kong (3-0), Bahrain (3-0), Saudi Arabia (3-1) and Indonesia (3-0), but lost to South Korea (3-0).
In the Championship stage, they lost 2 of the 3 matches to win Bronze. They def Japan (3-0), but lost to South Korea (3-0) and China (3-0).
