Hockey World Cup: Result of Pools and Participants in Every Edition

In the 13th edition, 12 teams have qualified. Among the overall 24 teams that have played in the World Cup, the maximum number of 16 teams participated in 2002 World Cup. Names of Teams in Pools are based on their position.
Inaugural edition had 10 teams, 1978 World Cup had 14 teams, 2002 World Cup had maximum 16 participants. All the other 10 editions let only 12 teams qualify for the World Cup.
